Population Connection will be sponsoring a Facilitator-training Institute this summer in Arkansas. The event will take place at the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute in Morrilton, AR, July 14-16, 2017. I would like to encourage you to apply to attend. This will be an excellent opportunity for science educators to become acquainted with innovative, interdisciplinary curricula for the science and mathematics classrooms that address state and national learning standards.

The facilitator training is open to educators who are interested in leading Population Education workshops for their colleagues at schools, universities, and conferences around the region.  Participants will include K-12 teachers, university education faculty and nonformal educators who work with teachers. Population Education, a program of Population Connection, has been hosting these “train-the-trainer” events for the past 20 years.  Population Education is covering most of the weekend’s expenses (lodging and meals for the weekend, as well as up to a $500 travel stipend), as well as providing a set of curriculum products.

To apply, follow this link for the application form and email it in with a current resumé or CV.  Please note that there is an application deadline of March 7, 2017. If you would like additional information, please contact me at the phone number or e-mail address below.  Details on our Population Education program and our Trainers Network can be found on our website, www.populationeducation.org.

I look forward to hearing from you, and hope you can join us in Arkansas this summer.
