Testing Nutrient Runoff IN Arkansas
Mike Daniels, CSES alum, is a water research specialist with the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture Cooperative Extension Service and co-founder of Arkansas Discovery Farms.  The main focus of the Arkansas Discovery Farms project is Gulf of Mexico hypoxia, which is low water-oxygen levels negatively affecting the fishing industry that may be caused by excessive nutrient runoff from agriculture along the Mississippi River.

Mike Daniels developed a program in which farmers willingly test and monitor their water reserves in order to collect hard data on sediment and nutrient losses. View the 9 minute video  here

Butterfly Days are back at the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks

When:  September 17th and 18th, 24th and 25th

Time: 12:00-2pm each day

Each session is limited to 8 classes.

  Who:  School groups in 2nd – 4th grades

How much:  $4 per student
